The New Zealand Prosthetic Eye Service is a specialized practice dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals who have experienced the loss or disfigurement of one or both eyes.
Our multidisciplinary team, comprised of experts in dental technology, optometry, oculoplastics, and ophthalmology administration, ensures that patients receive holistic support. This includes initial prosthetic eye fitting, ongoing maintenance, and long-term care. We prioritize eye socket health, form, and function through annual reviews, prosthesis re-polishing, and, when necessary, eyelid surgery to maintain facial symmetry.
Recognizing the profound psychological impact of eye loss, we offer compassionate support, providing evidence-based guidance and empathetic care throughout our patients’ journeys.
We are registered with ACC and an approved provider with the Ministry of Health, enabling us to offer prosthetic eyes and replacements at minimal or no cost to eligible patients.
Initial consultations are free and we are always happy to provide free expert advice by phone or email.
