Since 2008, the New Zealand Prosthetic Eye Service has been a leader in providing comprehensive care for prosthetic eye wearers. We offer evidence-based, professional services in accessible locations within established eye centers nationwide, with fees largely subsidized by the Accident Compensation Corporation, the Ministry of Health, and local Te Whatu Ora hospitals.
We are committed to advancing the field through groundbreaking research, conducted in collaboration with local and global partners and supported by Prosthetic Eye Wearers in New Zealand. Our research into the eye socket’s response to prostheses, the psychological impact of eye loss, and prosthetic eye performance ensures we maintain the highest global standards in prosthetic development.
Our administrative and head office is located on the North Shore in Auckland. We operate from accessible locations in established eye care centres throughout the country.
